A little of his history
Rod Alex (Temuco, Chile, April 5), is a Chilean guitarist, singer, composer, arranger and music producer, former member of the band Código.
Over the years, Rod Alex has participated in several musical works in the town of Temuco, and in locations throughout Chile, currently maintaining, in the digital market, his first album as a soloist, named Despierta Ya, its nine songs being of the hard rock genre.
His beginning
Rod Alex was born on April 5, 1994, in the city of Temuco, IX Region of Araucanía, Chile.
During his childhood, one day his father invited him to visit a musician friend, Mr. Ricardo Oliva, who worked professionally as a saxophonist, and after spending a pleasant afternoon, Rod Alex was influenced and encouraged to discover the world of music.
So a few years later, he started in the great world of music, specifically in 2009, at the age of 15, starting with the acoustic guitar and then singing, and after a few months, he made significant progress in it, doing everything self-taught, through study material, books and online content.
Then in 2011, at the age of 17, he began his career as a soloist, a time in which he performed songs by popular groups and soloists, focused on the genre of Latin rock, hard rock, and pop rock, he also began performing songs from popular anime series, performing in different bars and venues in Temuco during his beginning.
It should be noted that during his beginnings, Rod Alex gradually prepared himself technically and theoretically in the world of music, since his goal was to be able to achieve his own album at some point.
At that same time, Rod Alex, together with a group of musician friends, proposed creating a new musical group, which was going to have the name “Calavera”, band that was going to be of the heavy metal and hard rock genre, in which there were two demos, which were never released, and after a few weeks, due to the lack of interest of the other participants, the project ended up dissolving.
Summer of the 2012
This image was taken in the month of January 2012, in the town of Mehuín, commune of San José de la Mariquina, XIV Region of the Ríos, Chile.
At that time, Rod Alex began to take his first steps in relation to the composition of his own songs, and at that time part of the song was born Nunca Podrán, which is currently known as Liberate, belonging to his first album as a soloist.
Live performances (2012)
This image was taken in 2012, inside the “Club del WBO” Pub Restaurant, located at Av. San Martín 697, Temuco, Chile.
The place belonged to a great artist, musician, composer and comedian from the Araucanía Region, Rodrigo Manríquez Toledo (RIP), who was a tremendous person, who encouraged and helped many emerging artists and bands in the area, becoming recognized nationally for his participation with his group Manpoval, as well as for his true humility and affection for everyone he knew.
Regarding the above, Rod Alex, at the beginning of his artistic career, had the privilege of meeting Rodrigo Manríquez Toledo, and sharing with him, taking a few words to thank him for his help and his humility in helping others.
On this occasion, Rod Alex performs songs by popular artists, Latin rock, eighties rock and popular music, making it a nice evening, with other dates being scheduled later.
In those years, not many register are kept, however Rod Alex participated with a group of friends, and as a soloist in different bars in the town of Temuco, becoming known at his early age.
At that same time, Rod Alex, together with two musician friends, created an 80s rock tribute band, especially Latin rock, noting that as an anecdote, said band never had an official name.
With the previously named band, they only remained active in the city of Temuco, which toured various bars, pubs and restaurants locally, as well as shows on the streets of the city.
Step by Código (2012 - 2016)
At the end of 2012, Rod Alex was invited to take part as a singer in the band Código, a hard rock band from Temuco, Chile, which was in the process of selecting its members, since it had the proposal of generate your own songs. As the months passed, the band prepared for its first live date, which took place on Saturday, August 10, 2023, at the Former Dreves Headquarters of the Santo Tomás Temuco Professional Institute.
Thus the years passed, where the band Código was present at several massive events, pubs, bars and private events in the IX Region of Araucanía, as well as the X Region of the Lakes, and the XVI Region of the Ríos, in different bars, pubs and events.
It should be noted that, in 2014, the band Código, thanks to the support of the Padre Las Casas Cultural Center, was able to record and produce its first self-titled album, which was released on July 31, 2014, in the Aula Magna of the Catholic University of Temuco.
Finally, in November 2016, Rod Alex spoke with the members of Código, that for personal reasons he would have to leave the band, so Monday, November 7, 2016, was his last live performance with the band, and Código After some time, the band continued with a new singer.
Beginning of his soloist career
Rod Alex, after his departure from the band Código, began to develop his own musical compositions, influenced by the genre of hard rock, pop rock, fusion rock and progressive rock, taking references from musical legends, such as ToTo, Europe and BonJovi.
It is noted that, throughout his career as a musical soloist, from 2012 to 2016, Rod Alex has composed a total of fifteen songs, which were distributed in two albums.
Regarding this, when he began his artistic career, as a personal anecdote, he had composed five other songs of his own, which were lost on an old pendrive that could not be found.
During his beginnings as a soloist, Rod Alex collaborated in parallel on many local musical projects, both personal and commercial, including collaboration with his friend Joe Valdivia, the group Los Diamantes de Allipén, among others.
Likewise, Rod Alex participated in several public and private events in said town, as well as in nearby communes, and in events that helped families of victims of the fires that occurred in 2015, in the communes of Lonquimay, Melipeuco and Curacautín.
Despierta Ya (2020)
In 2020, the album Despierta Ya was released, being his first solo album, which is made up of nine songs, influenced by the hard rock genre.
Starting the composition stage in 2012, at that time two songs from said album were created, the song Tus Besos, which at that time was called “Contigo Aprendí” and the song La Puerta Del Destino, and as the years passed, the other songs on the album were integrated.
Despierta Ya had the release date of February 21, 2020, through its official Rod Alex channel on YouTube, where on that occasion, its official demo version was published, after which, its mixing version was released, which was published in a singular way, through Rod Alex's official channel on YouTube.
Finally, in 2023, on May 15, 2023, its definitive version was officially released, which is currently available for free through most digital audio distribution platforms, such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer, Apple Music, and many more.
The album Despierta Ya has a duration of 37 minutes and 59 seconds, being composed of nine songs, which are listed below:

Buscando Una Razón (2023)
On December 5, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in Chile, his second album as a soloist was officially released, named Buscandi Una Razón, which is made up of nine songs, and on this occasion there is a new musical proposal, taking part genre of Hard Rock, Fusion Rock, Pop Rock, Electronic Rock, and Progressive Rock.
A little of the history of this album goes back to 2015, where at that time, the album Despierta Ya was being developed and composed, noting that six songs were also created, which were not part of said album, because to Rod Alex's personal opinion, they should be part of a future discography, since it was a different proposal.
In relation to the album Buscando Una Razón, like its predecessor album, it is composed of nine songs, which were created from 2015 to 2022, finishing its mixing stage in 2022, and its mastering in early 2023, achieving a musical evolution and a new proposal for the Rock industry.
Regarding the tracklist offered by Buscando Una Razón, has a duration of 38 minutes and 33 seconds, with a total of nine songs, which are listed below:

SECRET PROJECT (2024)
Last Saturday, May 4, 2024, two new singles were released, mentioning that both were made to be part of a series that has been made by fans of the original series Knights of the Zodiac (Saint Seiya).
Both songs go back to the saga of the 108 specters, from when evil threatened to threaten the life of the Goddess Athena, and where bravely all the knights of gold, silver and bronze fought to restore peace, after that, until the war holy with Hades.
In relation to the singles, the first was named “Por Siempre Ganaremos”, which currently has its opening version, due to its short duration, and the second song was named the same as its original, “Remember”, because is a cover by the Japanese group Make Up.
In relation to the song Por Siempre Ganaremos, it was created and composed by Rod Alex, and in said official version, two more artists were invited, from various Latin American countries.
Finally, it can be noted that the definitive version of said album is expected to be released in the second half of 2024, which will be made up mainly of 6 songs, waiting for a seventh song that will be incorporated at the end, as an additional track.
